Sessions Court. Peter Cooley and James Curran, for feloniously ripping upwards Of 200 weight of Lead off the house of Thomas Clarke, Esq. at Parkgate street. — examined examined by Mr. Greene—Was alarmed by the noise of a man on the roof the house next door to him, occupied by Mr. Clark; he continued watching till three o’clock in the morning; saw a man coming dou n the lane, with something on his shoulders and then throw over the wall ; went to Paul’s watch-house got three Police men, who kept close watch till about six o’clock in the morning, wheh jaunting car arrived, with three men on it; Cooley was the driver of it; the lead was found with them; on being brought to the Watch-house, Cooley said, in the hearing of Curran, that he had been hired by the other two men. James Byrne, examined—ls a slater; repaired Mr Clarke’s house; examined it after the robbery, and the lead he saw at the watch-house corresponded with the vacancy in the roof.—Cooley, Not Guilty—Curran, Guilty, Transported for seven years.
