24/12/1832 Sussex Advertiser Sussex, England: George Gorringe, Henry Curtis, Joseph Carnal, and John Bundle, convicted of having robbed James Webber, on the highway at Cuckfield, had sentence of Death recorded against them. All arrived per 'Stakesby'. Henry Curtis was listed as 20 years old on arrival. Place of Birth: Romsey. Occupation: Soldier/house servant/groom. Henry was single, 5'10" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, reddish eyebrown, thickly pockpitted. 1833 Muster: Assigned to Mr. Sergeantson 1835 Muster: Public Works. 8/7/1835: Suspicion of having stolen one pair of trowsers and two shirts, the property of John Johnson, Committed for Trial. 12/10/1835: 18 months imprisonment and hard labour. 10/9/1840: Permission to marry Mary Owens (Hindostan). 26/10/1840: Married Mary at St. David's, Hobart. Henry was 28 and Mary 23. Name changed to Edwards C1846 - apparently they had 5 children. 20/5/1842: TOL 24/6/1845: Recommended for a CP for the Australian Colonies. Contribution on Mary Owens profile page by Anne Goodman states that Henry changed his surname to Edwards C1846.
