Born in Basford, Notts, enlisted 1820, deserted in Canada in 1836, court martialled, sentence transportation for life. Arrived in Sydney 12 Feb 1837 on the "Norfolk". Ticket of Leave granted 15 Jan 1846 & Conditional Pardon 1 Oct 1850 in Sydney. Codition was that he could not return to Gt Britain or Nth America. No further information confirmed. Details of marriage and death in Sth Aust noted elsewhere do not fit.
