Beds. Midsummer Session, July 2 & 3. Francis Davis and Richard Street were indicted for stealing fifteen dozen live tame pigeons, the property of Messrs. W. and T. Kempston, of Shillington, on the 16th day of May last. John Kempston deposed that he discovered a hole in the wall on the morning after the robbery, and most of the pigeons were gone. suspected the prisoner Street, and got a constable to search the house, when they saw pigeons fly out of the windows, and afterwards found four sacks of pigeons in the house. Tied parchment round the legs of some, which he afterwards found flew home.—The constables proved that Davis escaped through a hole in  the roof; Street was taken into custody, Verdict, Guilty. Transported for fourteen years.  Bucks Gazette, 11 July 1835.
