The Convict Indentures state that Sarah Delany was 22 years old. She could neither read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Wicklow. She was a kitchen maid. Sarah was convicted of vagrancy at County Wicklow on 19 June 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 2 1/2 inches; complexion ruddy and freckled; hair sandy brown and eyes hazel grey. Transport number 90. Prisoner number 89-38. Received Certificate of Freedom in 1844 (number 44/1348)
