Daniel DONOGHUE was convicted at Surrey, England on 28 March 1842 for stealing a quantity of lead. Previous conviction. Life Sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Emily' arriving 24 Nov 1842. Ship Surgeon's report: "Well behaved, industrious". Aged 18yrs; labourer; Roman Catholic; can read; 5'4" height; fresh complexion; brown hair; light Hazel eyes. Native place: Kingston, Jamaica. Mother: Margaret (ref. Convict Indent record) Brother: John VDL: 4 year Probation Period. Assignments of work service. Several records of misconduct and punishments. 24 Dec 1850: Ticket of Leave granted. 4 Oct 1856: Ticket of Leave revoked.
