Rebecca Downs was convicted at CCC, London 9 Dec 1830 for stealing a fabric table cloth. No previous convictions. 7yr sentence. Rebecca was to be transported to Australia on the ‘Earl of Liverpool’ but was transferred to the ship ‘America’ to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) arriving 9 May 1831.
Single woman; aged 35yrs; dressmaker & needlewoman; 4’9 1/4”.
