Convict Notes

Latest information indicates that Daniel Doyle died 1864 at Tenterfield. NSWBDM 5996/1864.He is DEFINITELY buried at Drake Cemetery under the name Charles H Blanford = HE CAmE FROM wHERE tHE ROSE OF TRALEE WAS THAT pLACE....MWTP. ALSO Charles H Blanford= Catherine Farrell his sister Ellen Doyles gravestone..TIF, at Murrurundi.

Freed convict aka Daniel Doyle was the brother of Ellen Doyle-Taylor, sister Anne Doyle aka Mary Ayton, brother William Doyle aka William Chambers. They were convicts, all born in County Kerry,Ireland. LETS GET THIS CLEAR. The "Use of Dad Games" is irrelevant.NSW State Archives show that "Daniel Doyle lit out for California on the ship Una on 7th April 1850". Daniel married Ellen/Eleanor Duffy-Snell at Yass...,NSW BDM 1413/1843. Ellen the 1840 widow of DECEASED Henry Snell accompanied Daniel... it seems a Henry Snell took passage in first class...Barry believes, reckons it was a peaceful journey. Its certain that passenger had nothing in common with others onboard,so remained isolated in the cabin "all the way to Califoni A in the U.S.A." Ellen Duffy/Doughy Snell had a life sentence so she's fled the Colony without permission. It seems Daniel found Gold in California and returned to NSW before 1855. There were no kids with Ellen Doughy-Snell. They remarried at the Maitland Catholic Church in 1855..NSW BDM 626/1855. Daniel and Ellen Duffy lived on the Taylors communal 5 acre bush block called "Killarney" at Fordwich until Ellens death in 1858. In 1859 Daniel has married immigrant, Margaret Coughlan.. NSWBDM 3013/1859. NSWBDM births indicate 3 children, a teenage girl, Jane and 2 surviving boys John and Daniel at Tenterfield NSW.There is no authentic DNA tested descendants of Daniel Doyle that are evident. Perhaps they dont wish to be entwined in Dungeons and Dragons Games with the attached nastiness and cruel innuendoes that are disrespectful and have a dark agenda.

On Daniels convict indent, he is listed as bearing on his lower arm the letters E D and the word Susan. So Daniel has recorded on his arm the name of the convict ship "Susan" and the initials of his acknowledged sister Ellen Doyle-ED who was on another convict ship in the same year 1836. To me that record shows that Daniel is literate despite coming from the poor area of County Kerry. He must be able to read that tattoo.

Annotated Printed Indentures No. 36/328: aged 20 Cannot read or write Roman Catholic Single Native Place: County Kerry Trade: Farm Labourer Tried: 29 June 1835 for Stealing Lead Previous offence: 1 month

Daniel formed from letters in Francis Doyle or from his Kerry father Michael Doyle. How? ANI/francis PLUS DLE/doyle OR AIEL/michael PLUS D/doyle.WHY? So as to avoid harsher punishment in Court as a "repeat offender"after being picked up by the English police for some suspected crime. There were an estimated 300K Irish immigrants to England and Scotland during the 1800s.Majority would have been destitute and trying to survive.

Daniel was baptised catholic as Francis Doyle at Killarney. He changed his first name to Daniel after the poor family reached England about 1830. His convict record states born Kerry. His sister Ellen was baptised 1815 in Killarney,County Kerry Ireland. Also Mary Ayton would be their sister baptised catholic-Anne Doyle in Killarney 1818. Aka Daniel had a monobrow,5'.4". Convicts, aka Daniel and Ellen had a brother William born 1814 in Kerry. I AM NOT RELATED TO ANY DESCENDANTS OF DANIEL DOYLE, CONVICT ON THE BLENHEIM.
