John Doyle applied to marry Elizabeth Byron in May 1837 but was refused, it might have been because he stated he was married and had 2 children under the name Richard Boyle, when he came as a prisoner in 1826. His wife came out as a convict as Margaret Boyle two years prior with his 2 children Sarah and Henry. Margaret married William Thurgate in 1825 .
