Patrick Doyle was transported on the Waterloo, departing 2nd Oct 1837 and arriving 8th Feb 1838 with 224 passengers.
1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Court and date of trial: Court Martial, Demerara, British Guiana, April 1837. Crime: Striking his superior officer. Initial sentence: 14 years transportation. Annotated (Outcome): Nil. Petitioner(s): The prisoner. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Intoxicated; youth. Other papers: Letter from Fitzroy Somerset, Horse Guards, stating that no grounds for mitigation as the prisoner considered to be 'the most worthless soldier in the Regiment'. Additional Information: Prisoner held on board Justitia hulk, Woolwich.
