Nell Murphy on 9th September, 2019 wrote:
John DWYER was convicted at Sydney, New South Wales for insubordation - striking a senior officer, Col. Jackson in the 99th Regiment, on 15 Jan 1846. Had been in the Regiment for 4 yrs, 5 mths. Life Sentence. Transported to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ship ‘Louisa’ arriving there 26 April 1846.
Aged 23yrs; single man; trade - a butcher & soldier; 5’7 1/2” height; sallow complexion; black hair; brown eyes; Roman Catholic.
Native place of birth: Co. Waterford, Ireland.
