Gaol report- often convicted before. Good. Single, Stated this offence- stealing a cloak, before, a sheet, ( 9 months)- for assault 3 months, again for same, 3 months. Single. 2 years on the town. Roman catholic. Trade- house maid, age 20, native of Cork. A number of offences: absent without leave, misconduct, use of obscene language, drunk, being a common prostitute, etc. Ticket of Leave: 8/1/1850 Colonial Times, Hobart, 22 Sept 1848. CONVICT DEPARTMENT. Comptroller-General's Office, Sept. 18, 1848. In accordance with the Act of Council 6th Victoria, No. 18, I hereby give notice, for the first time, that His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to approve of the solemnization of Matrimony between the under-mentioned parties :— John Hickey, T.L., Maitland, residing at Carrick, and Margaret Egan, Phoebe, in private service, residing at Longford.
