Family connections for William (Eaton) are: Some amendments added Jul 2025. EATON William (Eaton) was born on 3 2 1769. He was tried for stealing cheese, on 14 5 1788, of Strother (Allen) at Justice Hall Old Bailey on 22 6 1788, sentenced to 7years, held at London or Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 7 1791 or 16 10 1791 after a voyage of 6 or 9.5months on Fleet ship ADMIRAL BARRINGTON; he was Protestant. He was Free by Servitude by 1800 & married firstly Jane (Ison/Lloyd perhaps her second (2of3) marriage) on 3 8 1800 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. William Eaton married Jane Forster, on September 6, 1824 at St Peters Church of England in Richmond, New South Wales. The register recorded that William Eaton married Jane "Foster" by Banns by Henry Fulton. Witnesses were Edward Carney and Martha Cross. Jane Forster was transported on the "Maria" which departed England on 15 May 1818 and arrived Sydney on 7 September, 1818. She was accompanied by her daughter Mary who was about 9 years old. In the Convict Indent for the ship, Jane was described as a Housekeeper, age 46.] When they arrived in Sydney, they were sent to the Female Factory at Parramatta: "Jane Foster and 1 girl". In the 1822 muster she was listed as a convict assigned to A Bell at Windsor. In the 1825 muster Jane was listed as Jane Forster, free by servitude, Maria, 1818, 7 years, wife of Wm Eaton, Richmond. Her daughter Mary Forster was listed as came free, Maria 1818, daughter of Jane Forster, Richmond. Jane Eaton died on 31 May 1840. She was buried in St Peters Church of England Cemetery, Richmond, New South Wales.

William Eaton, Tried Justice Hall, The Old Bailey, Middlesex, 22 June 1788, 7 years. --------------------------------------------------------------- Trial at the Old Bailey, 25 June 1788. 437. WILLIAM EATON was indicted for stealing, on the 14th of May , a Cheshire cheese, value 20 s. the property of Strother Allen . The prisoner dropt the cheese in the presence of the prosecutor, and was soon afterwards taken by him. (The prisoner called eight witnesses to his character.) GUILTY . Transported for seven years . Tried by the first Middlesex Jury before Mr. RECORDER.
