ESSEX ASSIZES. The assizes for this county finished on Saturday afternoon. Of 93 prisoners in the gaol, about 45 were discharged by proclamation, for want of evidence, or bills being found. gaol, abort 45 were discharged by proclamation, for want of evidence, or bills being found. No less than 21 were capitally convicted were capitally convicted and received sentence of death, viz —John Paul Gooch, Christopher Twitchett, John Edwards, Richard Webb, John Smith and Joseph Cooper for horse-stealing ; ...
