The Convict Indentures state that Michael Egan was 39years old.  He could neither read or write; religion Catholic; status married with 2 children and was a native of Tipperary.  He is a shepherd, butcher and labourer.  He was convicted of cow stealing in Tipperary on 7 April 1828 and sentenced to 7 years.  He had no prior convictions.  Physical attributes - Height 4 feet 11 1/2 inches; complexion ruddy; hair brown, bald and eyes blue.  Transport number 40.
Assigned to Mr Barry Wolstonecraft.
Received ticket of leave in 1834 (number 34/782)
