Born Thomas Elliss. His baptism is in Parish records Catherington 1804 with a spelling correction from E to L on the second L, to John Ellis & Sarah chr 17 Jun 1804.
Verified at Winchester Hampshire Archive: Thomas son of John and Sarah Ellis June 17th 1804.CHU41/1A/7-11 page 61.
Marriage in parish records Catherington : Thomas Ellis & Charlotte Lock, both of this parish, by Banns, 15 Nov 1829. Witnesses Joseph Lock (brother) and Ann Grant (nee Lock), verified at Winchester Hampshire Archives.
In 1841 Census Thomas Elliss (35, Ag Lab, b Hants), Charlotte (30, b Hants), George (10), James (7), Jane (4), Emma (2), William (4 mo), living at Frogmore, Catherington.
