30/3/1812 Sussex Advertiser Sussex, England: ASSIZE INTELLIGENCE Michael Ury, aged 30, for feloniously stealing, in the dwelling-house Thomas Cooke, of the Cliffe, Lewes, bank notes the value of 13l. his property. Michael was listed as 30 years old on arrival. Native Place: Stirling. Occupation: Nailor. Michael was 5'7" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. 23/10/1818: Married Mary Handley (Archduke Charles 1813), at St. Phillip's, Sydney. Children: 1817: Michael Eury d 1888 1823: Mary Ury d 1872 3rd child ????? There was a 3rd child - not registered on the NSW BDM - both children listed as 'Eury'. 6/5/1822: Michaey Ury died. 11/8/1822: Memorials To The Governor, 1810-1826 Text: To His Excellency Thomas risbane... The humble memorial of Mary Ury, widow sheweth That Michael Ury the husband of the memorialist departed this life on the sixth day of May last and left with her three children to provide for which endeavours to do by her labour in working. that your memorialist is much distressed by a heavy weekly rent she is a free woman and therefore humbly solicits your Excellency in your Great Humanity to Grant her an allotment of ground in the town of Sydney wherein she will build a residence for herself and her small orphan children...
