Richard Farrell, stood charged with assaulting, on the 24th November last, being at the time armed with a gun, one Sarah Proctor, putting her in bodily fear, and stealing a variety of articles. Verdict guilty. The Tasmanian Colonist Thu 20 Jan 1853. Page 2. Supreme Court. Richard Farrell was charged capitally with a robbery under arms, on the 24th Nov. last, by taking from the person of Mrs. Proctor, wife of William Proctor, Esq , Comptroller of Customs, a ham, six bottles of wine, six loaves of bread, two swords, a pair of boots, a andkerchief, and some shirts, the property of Mr. Proctor. The Courier Wed 26 Jan 1853. Page 3. SUPREME COURT.—THIS DAY. SENTENCES OF THE PRISONERS. Richard Farrel, convicted of, bush ranging. Remanded. 1863 - Richard Farrell, laborer, apprehended by Sub-Inspector Cole, was brought up for the offence of stealing at Oatlands on the 4th inst., an opossum rug, two bed ticks, a pillow, a pair of trowsers, and two shirts, worth in all JEI 108., of the goods and chattels of one Thomas Brook Sentence; 3 months in the House of Correction 1864 - Polic Court 31 Mar 1864 LARCENY - Richard Farrell pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a pair of black cloth trousers, the property of Peter Johnson. Detective Morley, in reply to the Bench, stated that the trousers were hanging outside Johnson's shop, when the prisoner came up and carried them off. The Bench ordered the man to be imprisoned for six months. 1865 - 20 Oct. 1866. Richard Farrell fined 5s. for disturbing the peace 1868 - 3 Mar. Larceny.—Richard Farrell, charged with stealing the sum of sixpence from the person of one Mary Ann Webb, was sentenced to 12 months' hard labor. 1869 - 23 Feb. PEACE DISTURBING.-Mary Ronayne fined 10s., and Richard Farrell fined 5s, for disturbing, the peace.
