COURT OF REQUESTS. NOTICE is hereby given, that Mr. JOHN FEARNHEAD, who has hitherto been acting as Assistant Clerk in this Office, is no longer employed as such, Feb. 15, 1826. Sydney Gazette, 22 Feb 1826.

1825 Sep-Oct. Recommended for the Governor's indulgent consideration. We hereby certify that John Fearnhead who came by the ship Henry which arrived in the year 1823, has not been convicted of any crime or Misdemeanour in this Colony, but is to our certain belief an honest, sober and industrious character having faithfully served Mr Vickers Jacob residing in the district of Sydney, from August 1823 to September 1825. (Signed) Alexr. Berry, Resident Magistrate. I know nothing to the prejudice of John Fearnhead. (signed) Richard Hill, Asst Chaplain of the District. First Master, Mr V Jacob, now in Calcutta. Sir, I respectfully beg leave to state that I have received advice of the sum of £100 Stg having been forwarded by my family from England for my benefit. Presuming that the sum in question has come to your office, I humbly request you will condescend to inform me how I can avail myself of it. Sir, I respectfully beg to state to you that I learn there is an objection to my receiving the difference of the amount in the hands of W. Balcombe, Esq, arising from the opinion of Major Ovens, who seems to Consider that a official application ought to be made & corresponding permission given. Having as I conceived taken the proper step by addressing Major Goulburn & receiving from your a verbal assent to the request contained in my letter, I humbly request you to inform me how to act.
