Pardons. — The Absolute and Conditional Pardons granted to the undermentioned persons are now lying at the Principal Superintendent of Convicts Office, and will be delivered to the respective parties on payment of the Fees due thereon to the public:- — Absolute. — Peter Daw,Sarah, 1829 ; Charles Evans, alias Robert Glascott, Prince Regent, 1827 ; William Evans, Norfolk 2, 1829; John Fihily, Norfolk 3, 1832 ; James Goff, Earl Spencer, 1813; William Jones, Mary Ann 4, 1835 ; Martin Kelly; Governor Ready, 1829 ; John Nolan, alias William Healy Knowles, Andromeda, 1830. Sydney Free Press, 16 April 1842. All the men listed as receiving an Absolute Pardon here, appear to have been rewarded for their part in the capture of a gang of bushrangers, known as the Jew Boy Gang. Warland, Robert Evans, John Teely, the two latter are ticket-of-leave holders, and one of the border police, joined Mr Day's party, joined Mr Day's party, who now proceeded with the utmost dispatch to Page's River, distant from Scone about twenty-five miles; on reaching which they ascertained that the bushrangers had been there about three hours before, and robbed Mr. Atkinson's Inn, as well as Mr. Rundle's store ; (a mis-spelling of his name as John Teely)

John Fihily was then then given in charge to the Jury for having on the 30th of January last, stolen one cow, and one heifer, the property of Michael Kearns, who proved to the finding of the cattle in the garden of Patrick Bryan, on the fair day of Templemore, the day after the cows were stolen. Patrick Bryan deposed to finding one of the cows in Fihily’s possession, and John Higgins to his having bought the other for 35s. The prisoner produced no witness. Without leaving the box, the Jury returned their verdict— Guilty—sentenced to transportation for life. Tipperary Free Press, 23 March 1831. -------------------------------------------------- The following persons (44 in number) were transmitted from our County Jail, on yesterday morning, to the Hulk at Cork, under rule of transportation. They were escorted party of the 1st Dragoon Guards: Edmond Penders, John Donghan.
