Patrick Flaherty and William Tierney were indicted for an assault on three Policemen, with Intent to kill on the 29th of July last, and a second count with intent to do grievous bodily harm. The Solicitor-General stated the case on behalf of the prosecution. The case having closed, the Judge charged the Jury, who retired, and in a few minutes found Patt Flaherty guilty ; William Tierney not guilty. Limerick Evening Post, 28 Aug 1829.
