Specific to Mary, her records suggest a birth year between 1815 and 1817 (her deaths certificate is not consistent with a birth in 1815). There doesn’t appear to be a birth record. At this time those records were taken by the church. An absences of a record could imply birth out of wedlock, and/or possibly Aboriginal ancestry. There is no transportation record, suggesting she was native born. Her records lack her signatures. Perhaps a sign of poor literacy.

William is a forebare.. Investigations into who Mary Davies was? I had a friend investigate her story.. Apparently she was Aboriginal of Tasmania? Part of 'Davis' clan from South west Tasmania. Has anyone found any further information about her. I have not been able to find a date of birth?
