The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW : 1803 - 1842) View title info Tue 23 Jan 1838 Page 3 Police Incidents.
Peter Brenen was charged with making an attack vi et armis, upon Mr. Mitchell, a publican, and his wife. Fined 40s. and costs.
Defendant was again charged with wilfully destroying property belonging to the complainant and also with assaulting Ellen Foley, contrary to the Act in such case made and provided, and to the great annoyance of the said Ellen Foley.
Fined 40s. and costs. Defendant expressed his intention of punishing Foley, who is a prisoner of the Crown, for living in a state of adultery.
