Timothy Fordham was 36 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported for ‘killing 2 sheep’.

Timothy was born in Little Swartham, he was married, wife Ann and 3 children.
Father: William
Mother: Sarah Miller
Brothers: John, William, Edward
Sisters: Elizabeth and Rachel at Native Place.

Timothy was illiterate, Baptist, 5’8” tall, brown hair, light brown eyes, his name and date of birth tattooed inside left arm.

2/3/1847: TOL
3/11/1849: CP

20/7/1855: aged 49, a farmer, married Mary Mattaky aged 40 at New Norfolk.

Mary died 24/6/1871 aged 54 of Phthisis, informant was Timothy Fordham, husband, near Bridgewater.

24/7/1877: Timothy died aged 73 at New Norfolk, Tasmania of Hydrothorax.  Informant was Eliza Banyard, daughter, Bridge Water.

Timothy is from Swaffham Bulbeck, a village in Cambridgeshire. The village was referred to as “Little Swaffham” up until mid 19th century.
“Great Swaffham” referred to modern day neighbouring village,Swaffham Prior.
