Owen Fraley was transported on the Waterloo, departing 21st May 1836 and arriving 6th Sep 1836 with 220 passengers.
1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

The Convict Indentures state that Owen Fraley was 29 years old. He neither read nor write; religion Roman Catholic; status married and had no children and a native of Clare. He was a tailor's boy. Owen was convicted of malicious assault in Clare on 1 January 1836 and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 7 inches; complexion brown and freckled; hair brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 86. Convict number 36-1889. 1837 NSW General Muster records state that Owen Fraley was assigned to Mr C. G. Cl... at Brisbane Water's. Received ticket of leave on 13 November 1840 (number 40/2493). Received Certificate of Freedom on 10 October 1843 (number 43/1688) at Paterson.
