Born at Farnham, Essex, England, Geroge was convicted of house robbery at the age of 19. Within the year of his arrival, George received a Ticket of Leave for the Brisbane Water District, meaning he must have been well behaved. Convict Indents state he was a farm labourer, 5’1 tall, dark ruddy complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, blue illegible mark inside lower left arm, and scar inside left thumb. George married Irish immigrant Mary Ann Donnelly at Kincumber in 1842 and had 13 children. On 1 June 1848 George received a Conditional Pardon.
