County of Antrim Assizes. George Galbraith -for stealing tobacco, the property of Mr. P. McGowan; Belfast. John Cosgrave - is in the employment of Mr. McGowran - he he sells tobacco -on 14th of this month the prisoner came into the shop and took away 13 lbs. of tobacco - there were several people in the shop at the time -witness followed him out, and saw him drop it on the ? stone. The prisoner was found guilty. Although young in years, it appeared that the prisoner was old in in crime, and he was sentenced to transportation for seven years. Belfast News-Letter, 27 March 1829.
