John Gale was 17 years old when transported for "stealing an eel net". 1837: Assigned to David Scott & Co., Sydney. 18/9/1838: Aged 23 5'6" tall absconded from J McLaren since Sept.12 - Invermein. 21/11/1838: Apprehended 20/9/1842: TOL Scone 22/11/1842: TOL Passport Scone, also 9/11/1843. 31/12/1847: CP 1850: Married Margaret Hamilton - Wellington District. Margaret died in 1889 aged 68 at Sofala. They had 2 children, George and Selina. 1886: John died aged 69 at Hill End, NSW.
