Robert GEGGIE was convicted at Edinburgh, Scotland on 18 June 1838 for house breaking and theft. Previous conviction and imprisonment. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Pyramus' arriving 23 March 1839. Single man; aged 17 yrs; joiner; has a speech impediment. Native place: Edinburgh, Scotland. VDL: Assigned to work services. Sent to Port Arthur Penal Settlement. Some records of misconduct and punishments but Free Certificate issued 1845. INQUEST: Robert GEGGIE was accidently drowned when bathing at the Cataract Gorge, Launceston on 6 Dec 1845. Inquest SC195/1/18 (1439)
