Patrick Gibbons was transported on the Waterloo, departing 21st May 1836 and arriving 6th Sep 1836 with 220 passengers.
1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Family connections for William (Gibbons) are: GIBBONS William (Gibbons) was born about 1793-1800 at Dublin Ireland. He married Anastasia (McCarthy) before 1820 at Dublin Ireland. He was convicted of robbery at Dublin City, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 19 2 1821 after a voyage of 3.5months on LORD SIDMOUTH; he was Catholic 5'8" dark pockpitted complexion dark hair hazel eyes. He became a surveyor by 1828 & was employed by Rev R (Cartwright) of Cabramatta. He was issued a Ticket of Leave 34/1119 for Bathurst in about 1834. In 1837 he was employed by D Maxwell (Irving) at Bathurst. On 12 6 1838 he was issued another Ticket of Leave 38/1934 at Bathurst.
