Quarter Sessions. —At these sessions, held before John Howley, Esq., assistant-barrister, on Monday, William Connell and William Gleeson, were sentenced to  seven years’ transportation, for a grievous assault, accompanied with circumstances of atrocious cruelty on Michael and John Read. The prisoners, with great sangfroid, confessed themselves guilty. His worship also sentenced Richard Tynan to seven years’ transportation for a similar offence. Kerry Evening Post, 16 July 1842.
