William GORDON was convicted at Monmouth on 3 Jan 1842 for stealing wearing apparel. 14yr transportation sent - to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Moffatt' arriving 28 Dec 1842. Gaol Report: bad connection Hulk Report: good Ship surgeon's report: very bad Aged 19yrs; single; tailor; 5'1 3/4". Native place - Liverpool, England. 3yr Probation Period - Maria Island (off the east coast of Tasmania).

William died on Maria Island "when a loaded truck passed over his body".
