John was born Alvescot, Oxfordshire, had three previous trials 1823 Assi 5/143/12, 1847 HO27/64,
1842 HO27/67. He was assigned to William Henry Mitchell of Barfold near Kyneton, Mitchell brought out his wife and six children.
