1828 Census Index. Patrick Goulding, age 50, T.L. Dorothy, 1820, 7 years, catholic, Farmer, Evan, Evan district. Has 4 acres of land, all cleared and cultivated. Mary or Errin Goulding, age 44, F.S. Friendship, 1811, 7 years, catholic.


1825, 10 March: Ticket of Leave to Patrick Goulding born 1777, labourer, native place County of Roscommon; 5’7¾”, sallow complexion, grey hair and hazel eyes; and “states to have been in government employment since his arrival” (see NSW Tickets of Leave, 1810-1869, Register of tickets of leave, 1824-1827). 1827, 29 March: Certificate of Freedom to Patrick Goulding, per Dorothy, 50, labourer, with a notation that the certificate was “torn up on its receipt from the Penrith Bench date 8 August 1848 which stated that Goulding died the day previous” (see Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867). Died 1848, 7 August; and buried 7 August 1848, Penrith District (see NSW Convict Death Register, 1826-1879, Images).


1820, 29 September: On list of convicts disembarked from the "Dorothy" and forwarded to Emu Plains for distribution (see NSW Colonial Secretary's Papers, 1788-1856, Copies of Letters Sent Within The Colony, 1814-1827). 1822: Patrick Goulding per Dorothy, government employment at Emu Plains (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849). 1825: Patrick Goulding, Ticket of Leave, at Evan (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849, General muster A-L 1825).


DATE of BIRTH: Listed variously as 1777 (on Ticket of Leave and Certificate of Freedom) and 1774 (on Ship Muster Roll). 1820: Patrick Goulding - labourer; sentenced to 7 years for "seditious practices"; convicted at Galway, along with 11 others – 8 of whom got life - Lent 1820 (see NSW, Australia Convict Ship Muster Rolls… 1790-1849).
