Baptised 16 Sep 1821, Bath, St James, Somerset to parents William Grandfield and Sarah Hall. Onboard ship the John Barry was noted in medical journal of onboard surgeon: William Grandfield, aged 19, put on sick list 27 Feb 1839, disease - diarrhea, discharged 1 March 1839, so year of birth being 1767 according to Ann Marie Gould appears to be incorrect.
