Dublin Evening Post Dublin, Republic of Ireland 14 May 1796: Patrick Moore, James Martin, Edward Gannon, Thomas Gaharty, and George Gray, wore capitally convicted for Defenders offences. George Gray was listed as 42 years old on arrival. Received 300 lashes for planning ship mutiny with brother Edward Gray & others. Spouse: lived 1822 with Hannah McKenzie per Lord Melville 1817 1828 Census: Geo Gray, 56, Conditional Pardon, Ship "Britannia" in 1796, Life Sentence, Catholic, Laborer, (Had farm at Bringelly 12 horned Cattle) Hannah 38, Conditional Pardon, Ship "Lord Melville" in 1816, 14 years, Protestant, Eliza 15, Born Colony, Thos 11 do, Jane 9 do, Mary 4 do, Edward 3 do, George 1 do. 1839: Geo Gray, Licensee & Superintendent Pelican lagoon (4 miles from Oxley Plains – 7 people, Slab Hut, Low Marshy country, watered by King River. 2 mile to station on opposite bank of Ovens. The Grays had both The Pelican and Black Dog Creek Stations in North East Victoria. George Henry Gray held the licence for BDC. 15/6/1853: George Gray died at Wangaratta, Victoria. Wife: Hannah died 29/3/1864 at Wangaratta.
