SECRETARY'S OFFICE, SYDNEY, 6th February, 1813. WHEREAS William Grose, a Stockman in the Service of Government, has lately absconded from his Duty, and there having been also Charges of a Criminal Nature exhibited against him, this is to give Notice, that the Sum of TEN Pounds Sterling will be paid by Government to any Person or Persons who shall secure and lodge said William Grose in His Majesty's Gaol of Sydney, any time previous to the Sitting of the next Court of Criminal Judicature. Sydney Gazette, 24 Apr 1813. ---------------------------------------------------- COURT OF CRIMINAL JURISDICTION.—On Monday last the Court assembled, and proceeded to the arraignment of a number of persons charged with felonies ; and then adjourned till Tuesday ; John Reeves was next indicted for the crime of wilful and corrupt perjury, in having sworn at an examination taken before a Bench of Magistrates at Windsor, on the 15th of January last, that one John MOSS, who was under examination for stealing a mare the property of the Rev. Mr. MARSDEN, had purchased the said mare of Mrs. Mary-Ann Cummings about two years ago; whereas no such transaction had ever taken place; of which offence the prisoner was found guilty, and sentenced to stand one hour in the pillory at Parramatta, on Thursday the 11th instant, between the hours of 12 and 2; at Windsor, where the offence was committed, on Saturday the 13th instant; and at Sydney on Saturday the 20th instant; and afterwards be transported for the term of seven years. William Grose, found guilty on a charge exactly similar, was sentenced the same punishment. Sydney Gazette, 13 Mar 1813.

Arrived in 1808. Absconded in 1813. Caught and pilloried 3 times before being sent to Newcastle for 7 years.Returned to Parramatta and married fellow convict Elizabeth Wray in 1826.They had 9 children.Was the publican of The Strong Man Parramatta 1834-1837.Died in 1859 and buried in St Johns cemetery Parramatta.
