“Daniel Hagan was indicted for feloniously carrying away Catherine Boyd, and forcing her to marry him - James Heany, Patrick Heany, henry Kane, Henry Hagan, Moses McKendry, Francis Hagan, Rebecca Kane, Molly McKendry and the Rev. John Rodgers were also indicted for aiding and assisting the said Daniel Hagan. - Daniel Hagan was found guilty and sentenced to be hanged on the 27th October, The rest were acquitted and discharged.”

As his hanging was set for three weeks later, there was obviously some quick intercession on his behalf to have that delayed, or immediately commuted.

Daniel Hagan was an old man for the times, and may not have lived much longer in NSW - he is not recorded in gaol records, Convict death register, inquest, newspapers or 1828 Census.
