Robert Hall was transported twice. His Earlier Conviction. Saturday, Robert Hall, a police man, but now a prisoner in the tolbooth, received an indictment to stand trial before the High Court of Justiciary on the 26th inst. for theft. Caledonian Mercury, 12 June 1815. The Trial of Robert Hall, a policeman, accused of breaking into a Gentleman's cellar in Melville Street, and stealing bottles from it.—He confessed  confessed the crime before the Court and Jury, and was sentenced to be transported beyond seas for seven years. High Court of Justiciary. Robert Hall, for stealing a cart saddle and harness from off a horse near Ladyfield-place, was sentenced to be transported for fourteen years. Glasgow Herald, 24 July 1826.
