1/5/1824 Drogheda Journal, or Meath & Louth Advertiser Louth, Republic of Ireland: LUCAN LINEN FACTORY. James Halpin was given in charge, for having stolen from the factory of Messrs. Leland Crosthwaite & Co. £83 16s 8d. in cash, and notes of the Bank of Ireland....the prisoner was a weaver in the employment of Messrs. Crosthwaite, and was aware that witness occasionally deposited money in the office. Catherine Webb worked with her husband in the employment of Messrs. Crosthwaite, at Lucan, and lodged in the same room with the prisoner and his wife ; the night the robbery was committed, prisoner did not come home till between one and two o'clock, and afterwards he lived better and worked less than usual....Judge Burton charged the Jury, who after a few minutes' consultation, found the prisoner guilty. James was 5'3" tall, sallow complexion, black hair, blueish grey eyes. Assigned to the Factory. 20/10/1827: Arrived Moreton Bay per 'Governor Phillip' - sentenced to fourteen years and hard labor commuted from Death Recorded.

30/8/1827 The Monitor, Sydney: Judgment of the Court upon William Storey and James Halpin, for a burglary, and robbery in the dwelling house of William' Knight at Parramatta. Death Recorded. Then sent to Moreton Bay. William Storey arrived per "Henry Porcher 1825", he died at the Norfolk Island Hospital on 9/1/1838.
