VINVENT 1820'... 10/1/1820 Hampshire Chronicle Hampshire, England: On Thursday, the Mansion-house, James Hamilton, a person not more than 19 years age, was charged by S. N. Barber, Esq. a partner in the bouse of Sir John Perring and Co. bankers, with having forged a check for £63 in the name of Mr Harding, notary, of Bell-alley, Coleman-street. On arrival James was assigned to Mr. Winder. 1822 Muster: Working as a clerk in the Superintendent's Office, Sydney. 28/10/1824: TOL 1825: A Government employee at Norfolk Island. James was described as being 5'2¼" tall, fair ruddy complexion, light brown hair, hazel eyes. 26/10/1829: As Lucy Laws (Friendship 1817) - Permission to marry James Hamilton (Earl St. Vincent 1820) He was 29 and free, Lucy was 36, had a TOL, listed as the wife of John Meares. 1829: They married at St. James, Sydney. - No children listed. C1832: Held the license for "The Loggerheads" on the corner of Market and Clarence Streets - was assigned 3 convicts. 1838: Living in Parramatta Road. 26/11/1838: NSW BDM - James Hamilton died aged 42, leaving a widow. He was buried at La Perouse.




Married Margaret Connell on 13 Nov 1845 at St Mary's Cathedral Sydney. They had six children. He died on the Manning River in NSW.
