WM. RAMSDEN, WM. HAMMOND, and JOHN THOMAS, were then placed at the Bar charged with larceny, committed in the dwellinghouse of Mr. Joseph Charlesworth, Innkeeper of Cleckheaton. They were found Guilty of stealing to the value of 39s. and received sentence of transportation  for the term 7 years. Yorkshire Gazette, 17 March 1821.

Hobart Town Gazette, 15 Sept 1827 List of Runaways 392, Hammond, Wm. 5 ft. 3, dark brown hair, dark hazel eyes, aged 24, a lace runner, tried at York March 1821, 7 years, per Malabar, bom at Nottingham, hearts and darts, woman, dog and other figures on right arm. Absconded from the service of the Hon. J. Thomas, Esq. at Launceston July last. Reward £2.
