Chester Spring Assizes. We gave in our last the names of the prisoners who had been tried ; and we now subjoin the sentences of the remainder: … Solomon Booth, aged 27, Thomas Handford, aged 33, and Samuel Handford, 21, for stealing a bay mare, the property of John Bradley, of Duckenfield.—Guilty.— DEATH. Chester Courant, 23 April 1822.




Brother?? of Samuel Handford, also on board - tried same place and date. 25/4/1823: Conspiring to kill his master, rob his house and steal he property - transported to Macquarie Harbour for 5 years. 13/3/1829: At the Port Baracks, Hobart. 10/3/1832: Had TOL 25/10/1833: Tried at the Supreme Court for stealing a steer, value £3 - Death - Life. 14/10/1841: TOL 21/10/1845: Recommended for a CP for the Alust. Colonies. 31/10/1846: CP Approved. 13/4/1847: Arrived in Victoria from Hobart Town per 'Clarence'. 4/11/1857: Ovens and Murray Advertiser, Beechworth, Victoria: Refreshment Licence granted to Thomas Handford, Three Mile. VIC BDM - marriage listed for Thomas Handford and Mary Smith - no deaths found.
