John Hargraves, late of Port Macquarie, labourer, was indicted for having stolen a horse, the property of William Nairn Gray; The evidence was conclusive against the prisoner who in defense stated that the horse was given into his charge to do his work as stockman and to' follow the bullocks until he found them; The judge having summed up the jury found the prisoner guilty, and he was sentenced to be trans ported for ten years. 1844 - Transported to Van Diemen's Land per the Ship; Louisa. Indent No; 3649. Height; 5 ft 3 1/2 in Age; 26. Trade; Groom & Labourer 1847 - 29 August 1847 - Died in Van Diemen's Land.
