Old Bailey Online (D o B from here) 744. JAMES HARRIS was indicted for stealing, on the 23rd of February, I handkerchief, value 5s., the goods of William Wallis, from his person. WILLIAM WALLIS . On the 23rd of February I was in Whitechapel, at about five o'clock in the afternoon, and felt a twitch at my coat—I felt, and missed my handkerchief—I turned, and saw the prisoner three or four yards from me—I collared him, and asked what he had in his jacket—he immediately threw my handkerchief on the ground. Prisoner's Defence. A little boy who was going by took it, and threw it Down, and I caught it in my hand. GUILTY .* Aged 14.— Transported for Seven Years.
