I saw the message from my cousin 2 removed Chris Taylor. I thought I should correct the record. I have the documents from the Surry Azize... I think the evidence suggests it wasn't his real name.

My name is Jacqueline Nouwens nee Hasler. My father is Albert John Hasler. I was born and brought up in NSW Australia now living in Britain (since 1996). Can believe he was born in Hampshire; would love to know exactly where.




James Prisoner number 34/466, trial date 9 September 1933 in Surry. Ticket of leave number 40/696 granted on 25 March 1840, married Catherine LONGFIELD on 7 November 1840. Catherine HASLER nee LONGFIELD lived at 148 Glenmore Road Paddington NSW with her daughter Matilda and is buried at Clovelly NSW. Catherine died 10 April 1897. My great great great grandfather and mother.
