Roger Hayhurst was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 13th Jul 1829 and arriving 14th Dec 1829 with 200 passengers.

Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Stout made Journal of monies paid into the Savings Bank on behalf of convicts, 1838-1853 7 shillings and 7 pence paid out on the 24 July 1840 1845 - Pardon extended for any Country not in Europe - 28 July 1845 1845 - Departure as a Passenger 15 October 1846 from George Town per ship; Shamrock bound to Port Phillip.
