Levi Heaton/Eaton – All convict records on Linc.tas., are under Heaton. Levi was 27 years old on arrival. He was 5’4” tall, fresh complexion, brown hair and whiskers, hazel eyes, deeply pockpitted, lost part of forefinger on left hand, native place: near Bradford. Previous convictions for stealing Boots-1 month, a Watch-3months, combs-2 months. Probation at Rocky Hills 21/12/1848: 1st stage of Probation ended. 9/9/1850: TOL 14/12/1855: Free Certificate at Longford. August 1855: Married Mary Leonard (Blackfriar 1851) – they had 5 children listed. 7/1/1871: Levi died as a result of an accident. 14/1/1871 Launceston Examiner: A sad accident happened at the Penguin on Friday, 6th Inst., to a man named Levi Eaton, in the employ of Mr A. W. Conn, while grubbing a tree near the public road. As the tree fell it came in contact with the man, broke one leg and dislocated the other. He was removed to the Penguin Hotel, and Mr. E. B. E. Walker, of the Leven, set both legs, but the unfortunate man died the following morning at 3 o’clock from internal injuries.
