24/3/1832 Kerry Evening Post Kerry, Republic of Ireland: CORK ASSIZES CITY CRIMINAL COURT. Michael Linnehan, Patrick Hennessy, and George Cottor, three boys were indicted for assaulting Catherine Kenney, and stealing from her a thirty shilling note, a pound note, and some silver. The prosecutrix was going down Dingle-lane to the milk market last Thursday evening, between six and seven o'clock, and met the prisoners in the lane ; they caught hold of her and pulled her about ; she afterwards missed the money ; next morning a peace-officer discovered them at breakfast, and found £3 18s. on Hennessy. The Prosecutrix fully identified them. Guilty___sentence of death recorded, but recommended to mercy in consequence of their youth. No ships found for Michael Linnehan or George Cottor/Cotter. Patrick Hennessy was listed as 13 years old on arrival. Native Place: Cork. Patrick was literate, RC, Single, 4'9½" tall, ruddy ad freckled complexion, brown hair, hazel grey eyes, scar outer corner left eyebrow, scar left cheek, top joint little finger right hand disfigured. 1/7/1840: Sydney QS: Absconding and horse stealing from Robert Nichols Kent (looks like) Sydney. Absconded from Mr. Lawson, Bathurst, been with him 11 years 5'7", aged 24, still single. It seems that some week or ten days since, Mr. Webb, the toll collector, and his two assistants, worked the bridge open to allow the Monarch steamer to pass, and Hennessy noticing that all the male persons belonging to the toll house were on the opposite side of the river to that building, entered the outer office as if to light his pipe, instead of doing which, however, he commenced emptying a drawer in which the cash was kept....cont..... he let some silver fall, was stopped by Mrs. Webb and then handed over to police.....cont. The prisoner was summarily tried and convicted, and was sentenced to three years' labour in chains. 22/3/1860: Representing himself to be free .. 9 months imprisonment with hard labour. 24/7/1861: Stealing a coat..18 month imprisonment with hard labour. Was described as an inveterate criminal who should not be at large. 12/12/1865: CP Have not found a date of death for Patrick.
