Catherine Henrys was estimated to be 29 years old on arrival. Her native place was Sligo, Ireland. Goal Report: Very bad Tried March 1832 for breaking open the Prison at Derby acqud. Tried at Warwick 3 times & acqd. Been in Derby Gaol 5 times associated with Persons of the worst descriptn. A Man with whom she lived & who Stated to be her husband was Transpd from Nottingham about 1 year - ago bad temper. Catherine was transported for "Stealing Money from the Person. Catherine was 5'6" tall, single, pale complexion, black hair, hazel eyes, H. H. Cross on right arm, pockpitted. Occupations: Housemaid/laundrymaid/plain cook. 9/1/1843: Tried at New Norfolk - 3 years imprisonment with hard labor with 3 months solitary confinement. 2/2/1847: TOL 2/4/1849: Permission to marry Samuel Dobbs (Lord Lyndoch 1831), free. 9/5/1849: Married at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Launceston - Samuel was a Miner, Catherine 'Henries' was a House Servant - No ages stated. 7/7/1849: TOL 15/12/1849: TOL 12/2/1850: TOL 30/11/1850 The Cornwall Chronicle, Launceston: Saturday, November 23. LAUNCESTON POLICE OFFICE. Eliza Brown, (free) Elizabeth Little (c.p.) and Catherine Henry, alias 'Jemmy the Rover,' (t.l.) were charged with robbing a man of £3 10s., in a house of ill-fame, and discharged, the 'flat' not appearing to prosecute. "Jemmy the Rover" was afterwards charged with wilfully damaging a neighbours property, by smashing five panes of glass and part of the sash with a " lump of a stone." She was ordered to pay the amount of damage done, and not being provided with the pecuniary, was committed to durance vile for one month. 19/12/1850: Samuel Dobbs departed Launceston to Melbourne per 'Shamrock'.
